Activities · Sail the Pacific during humpback whale season

Whale, dolphin & marine wildlife watching

Head out to sea at dawn and watch humpback whales, dolphins and sea turtles in their habitat.

Provisional image — awaiting real photography of this activity.

Every year, between November and February, the warm waters of the Guatemalan Pacific welcome the annual migration of humpback whales. This tour departs very early from the Hotel Maya Jade pier, when sightings are most likely.

For about four hours we sail parallel to the coast of Maya Jade and Monterrico, less than a nautical mile from shore. Most trips spot humpback whales and, frequently, playful dolphins, sea turtles and tropical fish. As a complement, we practice trolling fishing (tuna, jack, rooster fish, mahi-mahi and more).
