Sea turtle rescue, nesting & release

Live the three conservation stages: night rescue, nesting and release.

Provisional image — awaiting real photography of this activity.

During the nesting season of the parlama turtle, visitors can take part in the three stages of Hotel Maya Jade's conservation process: rescue, nesting and release.

The night rescue tour is a guided walk along the beach (which can extend several kilometers) searching for nesting turtles or newly formed nests, to protect the eggs and plant them in the hatchery. Weeks later, when they hatch, the baby turtles are released in front of the hotel at dawn or dusk —a deeply moving moment. Nesting and release are supported with voluntary donations that sustain the hatchery.
